Worth Your Weight in Gold

WORTH YOUR WEIGHT IN GOLD

Good morning people of blogland.  Hope you are as well as can be and keeping warm in this odd weather we are having depending on where you are in the country.  Today's share is another Mother's Day Card. The day is looming.  Some people aren't lucky enough to have theirs Mum with them.  For those amongst us, it will be hard, try thinking of all the positive things you shared with your Mum, not the negative.  Your Mum will be with you all the time, in your head and in your heart, and also by your side.

MATERIALS USED

BLACK AND WHITE(HINT OF GOLD) CENTURA PEARL.
DOUBLE SIDED STICKY SHEET
GILDING FLAKES - GEMSTONES
SUE WILSON'S STRIPLET DIE - BEVELLED GLASS
LARGE 3 PETALED FLOWER FROM DREAMEES CD
MARRIANNE DIE LARGE FLOURISH
BLING

Die cut 3 Bevelled Glass striplets in full completely using both dies together out of the White centura pearl.
Cover a piece of card with the sticky sheet and line up each of the striplet dies and adhere to the sheet.
Using the gilding flakes, sprinkle over the top. The flakes will stick to the areas not covered.  Make sure every area is covered and burnish.
I printed out the flower from the Dreamees Country Pastels cd.  Used 4 layers for extra fullness.
Dressed the card.

Centura Pearl available from Crafters Companion
Flower from Dreamees Country Pastels available from Dreamees
Striplet Die & Gilding Flakes from Creative Expressions
Marrianne Die I bought via ebay.

MOTHER'S DAY KEEPSAKE

MOTHER'S DAY - 15TH MARCH

Hello again, thanks for stopping in to visit.  Today I'm sharing an MDF Plaque I made. I have recently found Dreamees products and have fallen for them in quite a big way.  They are lovely to work with.  I have only ever used MDF a couple of times before but have never tried this before.

MATERIALS USED

LARGE SHAPED MDF PLAQUE BY DREAMEES
(BOUGHT VIA CREATE AND CRAFT.TV BUT POSSIBLY AVAILABLE DIRECT)
KRAFT CARD,
CENTURA PEARL
DECORATIVE PAPER FROM MY STASH
RIBBON, LACE, SPIDERS WEB AND PEARLS TOO
PRINTED FLOWERS FROM THE CD
STAMP VERSE FROM DREAMEES
MILLED LAVENDER DISTRESS INK
VINE DIE CUTS (SUE WILSON)

I didn't prime the plaque first. I used cosmic shimmer glue and adhered decorative paper to the plaque, then cut away the excess.
Went around the edges with Milled Lavender distress ink to give a vintage feel.
Stamped the Verse onto Centura Pearl. Then, die cut using an oval frame and layered onto coordinating paper.  Cut a strip of kraft card, using the same paper as on the layered frame attached to the centre. Dressed with lace and ribbon. Attached the sentiment using foam tape, to give a little dimension, Attached the spiders web, Dressed the flowers around the sentiment (i do this before gluing to be sure I'm happy with the end result.) I tucked ribbon behind the sentiment at the top and looped to give a swirl effect.  Attached pearl string.  I used a coordinating ribbon to make the handle.

Thanks so much for popping in.  I would appreciate any comments you would like to make, it makes it all worth it.  Take care until next time, Stay safe

Much Love

Roller Derby Cupcake Cutie

ROLLER DERBY CUPCAKE CUTIE

I was ask by a friend to come up with something for her Daughter's birthday.  She had wanted something to do with her daughters past time - roller derby !!!!

I knew I didn't have any craft cd's with anything like this, so I headed to my favourite 2nd book store to see what I could find.  Luckily he has all sorts in there and this was in a comic.

I used Craft artist 2 to design what I wanted to acheive. Scanned the photo and brought it into my chosen items.

I've got to say, I am still notive and learning each time I use craft artist, but it is really fun, knowing that you can design something unique.

Items used

CRAFT ARTIST 2
6 SHEETS OF A4 PHOTO GLOSS PAPER
ICE BLUE CENTURA PEARL
SILVER MIRRI CARD
SNOW WHITE HINT OF SILVER CENTURA PEARL
SUE WILSON'S GEMINI DIE - CYGNUS
BLING FROM MY STASH
RED LINER TAPE
IRIDESCENT GLITTER
STICKLES YELLOW GLITTER GULE

CENTURA PEARL AVAILABLE FROM - www.crafterscompanion.co.uk
SILVER MIRRI CARD AVAILABLE FROM - Hunkydory
SUE WILSON'S DIE - AVAILABLE FROM Creative Expressions

The whole image was designed on Craft Artist 2, I printed the image out on Photo Gloss Paper 6 Times.
Layered the image up to bring the frame out and finally 3D the cupcake and the Roller Skater.
I also layered the flowers to give extra dimension. Put this to one side.
Carefully add red tape around the white area of the frame, add iridescent glitter,
Cut one whole (all three pcs of the die) out of Snow White Centura Pearl, cut in half, line up with each edge across the base layer each side of the image as shown.
Finally start adding the layers to build up the complete image
Add Stickles to the centre of the flowers
Add bling to finish

Thank you so much for popping in.  I hope you like what I shared, and hope you will pop in again. I would love it if you wanted to leave a comment.  I appreciate your time visiting.
Until next time, take care, stay and well

Much Love

FLORAL HEART DECORATION

FLORAL HEART DECORATION

THIS IS A VERY EASY DECORATION WITH MINIMAL REQUIREMENTS TO GIVE A REALLY NICE DECORATION.

WOVEN WOODEN HEART
2 SPRAYS OF ARTIFICIAL FLOWERS (ABOUT 8 HEADS ON EACH)
PINFLAIR GLUE

Cut of the heads of the flowers leaving about an inch of stem, place the stems loosely on the heart to give an idea, of exactly how many flower heads are needed to fill the complete heart.
Remove all the heads, working with the blank heart, add some pinflair below the center of the heart and fix the first head into place. I use this as my guide, Continue doing this working your way around the heart.  I tend to work my way around the top keeping the shape of the heart with the flower heads. Don't be afraid to move the heads about if you're not happy with the shape. Better to do this earlier as the glue hasn't set and you will be happier with the end result.

When the whole heart is filled with flowers, leave to dry completely overnight.

With it being February, I thought I'd share something over than papercraft, but this would look equally as good made out of paper flowers....
Something I will share in the future.

Thank you for taking time to pop in for a visit.  Please feel free to pop in anytime and leave a comment if you feel you want to.

Never be afraid to ask me a question.

Stay safe and well until next time

Much love

Talking ,bout This Generation - Box Card

BOX CARD FOR A MOD

Was asked to make a card for a Man who's favourite band is the Who
&
His passion is his Lambretta

I decided I wanted something with a WOW factor, the colours being Red,
White and blue.

I  use an old second hand book shop,  close to home and found the images I wanted to use.
I copied the image of the Lambretta six times to enable me to give the finished image a 3D appearance.

The base of the card was made up using AdorableScorable from Hunkydory in Royal blue
Scored along the long side at 7, 14, 21, 28 cms
Turn the card 90 degrees and score at 11cm through the first 3 panels, leaving one full panel for the back. Cut the top leftover edge away to enable you to attach together to make the box.
I lined the inner 3 flaps with Blue & Red Adorable Scorable, I used White Centura Pearl on all of the white Layers., decreasing each layer by 2mm to give the matt and layer effect.
Each picture of the Who was cut down to measure 6cm wide 10cm tall.

To complete the finished box I attached the Lambretta to the back panel,
To fill any gaps I used a Britannia Die, which has stars and swirls and attached them to the inner strips.
Along with sentiments I made to match up with the overall appearance of the card.

Thank you for taking the time to visit me blog,   I am very sorry I have been away for a while but I've been trying to build a facebook blog to, which I can say is growing steadily.
So until the next time, (which I promise will not be as long as this time), take care and stay well.

Much love

TRIO OF BLOOMS

Good Morning people of Blogland, back again with another card. Hope you are well, happy and enjoying this fabulous weather we are having.  The last 2 summers have been fantastic really.  With that in mind I thought I'd blog a summery floral corsage card.  It is actually one of my closest friends birthday card.  She was really happy with it, and so am I. This card involves stamping, heat embossing and die cutting.  The finished size is A5.

MATERIALS REQUIRED

LILAC CENTURA PEARL CARD
SILVER HOLOGRAPHIC CARD
DOUBLE SIDED SHEET
CENTURA PEARL SNOW WHITE CARD
PINK SHIMMER PAPER
SUE WILSON LEAVES DIE (CREATIVE EXPRESSIONS)
ORNATE SQUARES DIE (SPELLBINDERS)
GREEN CARD
VINTAGE FLORAL EMBOSSING FOLD (CRAFTER'S COMPANION)
EMBELLISHMENT BLING AND RIBBON
CHLOE'S FLORAL STAMPS LARGE AND SMALL
BRILLIANCE ORCHID INK
IRIDESCENT GLITTER
SAN TROPEZ SANDS EMBOSSING POWDER (WOW)
PERFECT MEDIUM CLEAR INK
SMALL LABEL DIE (CRAFTER'S COMPANION DIE'SIRE)
RANGERS PEARL GLUE

Cut a base for your card from the Lilac Centura Pearl to measure A5.
Keeping a 1cm border around the lilac card layer with silver holographic card
Emboss the snow white centura pearl using the vintage floral rose folder. Ink around the edge with the Orchid ink and layer leaving a fine holographic border
Die Cut 2 Holographic Ornate Squares, Cover a piece of white card with the double sided sheet and die cut a single square (this may take a few turns through the Grand Calibre due to the added thickness)
Once cut, peel off and cover with iridescent glitter. Burnish the glitter into the square with your fingers
Stamp the pink shimmer paper with both sizes of flower using perfect medium.  As its clear, I find it easy to cover each stamp with embossing powder to enable you to see where you have stamped.  Fill the A4 sheet with the two sizes of flowers. Heat until the powder melts and the bling shows through.
Cut out and curl the flower shapes and build into a larger  full bloom and two small smaller blooms
Attach all the die cuts together layering the white glittered square in the centre of the two holographic die cuts
Die cut 2 sets of the Sue Wilson leaves,
Arrange the 2 smaller flowers either side of the large bloom, decorate the leaves and ribbon around and secure under the blooms.  Finish the flowers with bling in the centre.  I used hobby house topaz range.
Attach a small label with the sentiment required.
Finish using Ranger Lilac Pearl glue around the frame to complete a pearl border.

That's all for today folks.  Thank you so much for your time visiting my blog I appreciate your time and energy.  Please feel free to leave any comment, good or bad.  I appreciate all feedback.  So for now, Take Care, Keep Smiling and be happy people.

Lots of love and crafty hugs

Create a box from Create a Card

Hello to Everyone of Blogland,

This is really just a very quick post today.  I am currently trying to improve my computer skills which I've got to say are getting better slowly but there's still along way to go.I am going to admit to you all that, I haven't uploaded as much as I was as I'm finding it hard going making and uploading to my blog.  Having Chiari and Osteoarthritis, I do find it very hard to multi task. I get so tired but I will try to upload regularly so please bare with me.  I'm trying.

Yesterday I was notified I achieved top 3 placing in the June Challenge which was Boxes, Bags and Tags.  I entered a Box made from the Create a Card die, Centura Pearl, Pink Holographic card, Pink Ribbon.  the floral decoration on the top was made using the desire rose die and decorating using die cut leaves and ribbon. Added some pearls to finish.

Thanks for taking the time to come over for a visit.  Please feel free to leave any comments, good or bad.  Until next time, take care, keep smiling and above all be happy.

Lots of crafty Love and Hugs
